Registration Procedures
Bulkley Valley Otters Swim Club
Spring Session 2009/2010 (May 5 - June 11)
Welcome!
1) Please complete registration form(s) neatly. This includes the BV Otters Registration Form and the Personal Information Consent Form. Complete one form for each child.
2) All sections must be completed. Please contact Ann Harness (250 846 9403) for assistance.
3) If you are registering three or more children, you will need to complete a Multi-Swimmer Family Rebate Application that will allow you to reduce your Swim BC fees. Contact Ann for this form.
4) What swim group do you register for? If you are new to the club, please talk to our coach, Tom Watson who is often guarding at the pool or give him a call (778 210 0513).
5) What SwimBC level do you register in? Please read the following information. If your child has never swum before, most likely he or she will fit in the PC level.
Category "PC" - Pre-Competitive
Fee - $20.50
Any year of registration
If registered previously as T, N, or M, does not qualify
May compete in ONE competitive opportunity per year
May compete in unsanctioned meets
No minimum age, maximum: age 17
Category "T" - 10 and Under
Fee - $43.50
Competitive, 10 years or under as of Dec. 31, 2009 (swimmers turning 11 between Sept. 1 and Dec, 31, 2009 must be registered in "Provincial", not "10 and under")
Category "P" - Provincial
Fee - $66.50
Competitive, 11 or over as of January 1, 2010
Category "N" - National
Fee - $87.50
Competitive, for those who have achieved age group national standard, Western Canadian Championship standard or Senior National time standard at any time
Category "M" - Minimum training
Fee: $33.00
Allowed 4 hours water time/week.
May compete in FOUR sanctioned meets (not championships)
Minimum 11 years old at time of registration.
6) All payments are due in full. See below. Please note that there will be a $20.00 NSF charge for all returned cheques.
7) There are no expectations for fundraising for the spring session. However, BV Otters sells grocery coupons which helps to raise funds for the club and if you choose to register your child next year with the club, 10% of this fundraising can be used towards reducing your registration fees. Coupons are available for Safeway, BV Wholesale and Extra Foods. See Coranne Dohler here at the pool or contact her at 250 847 2856 if you are interested.
8) Swimmers are required to be on deck 15 minutes before scheduled swim times to warm up. Swimmers are not allowed in the pool before their scheduled swim time begins and may only stay in the hot tub for 15 minutes afterwards if supervised by a parent. Swimmers wishing to swim outside BV Otter times are expected to pay public swim fees.
