This year showed a light decrease in the number of fledged Mountain Bluebirds. There were no second nesting attempts. Out of 113 eggs that were laid 95 young fledged (84% success rate). These results were better than expected since the weather was marginal: cool and rainy. Some termed the summer as a "Bummer Summer". One box experienced bear damage.

The disturbing three year trend has returned giving the poorest Tree Swallow fledging results in the history of our nestbox project. Although the number of fledgings decreased this year, the number of boxes used remained the same. This year we recorded approximately 205 eggs laid in 41 nests and 66 young fledged (32%. success rate). The most disturbing fact was the number of young that were abandoned by the adults. One probable explanation we have is that the cool, rainy weather did not give the adults enough food to feed the young, We also experienced continued bear damage to several boxes nesting TESW .
